Sanding Grade Guide

At Kayfast we stock a wide variety of abrasive rolls, sheets, pads, discs ad belts, to meet the high demands of the modern woodworking, decorating and metalworking industries using tear and crack resistant backing paper, heat resistant resin adhesive and premium quality abrasive grit.

Sanding Grade Guide:

COARSE 40- 60 GRIT;
The coarse grade quickly removes unwanted coatings and finished from the surface in preperation for lacquers, varnishes and paints. Can be used with chemical stripping compounds.

MEDIUM 80-100 GRIT
The medium grade removes unwanted coatings and finished from the surface in preperation for lacquers, varnishes and paints. Can be used with chemical stripping compounds.

FINE: 120 - 150 GRIT
The fine grade flattens and smooths the surface in preperation for lacquers, varnishes and paints. Can be used with chemical stripping compounds.

EXTRA FINE: 180 - 240 GRIT
Used for final preperations before finishing. Ideal for polishing and achieving a super smooth finish.
